Drum Roll Please....

Here to present this year's theme on Life & Faith in Caneyhead is Barbara, founder and sole writer of this blog.

Thank you!  And thank you all for coming to my 2016 A to Z Theme Reveal.  Life & Faith in Caneyhead is quite simply about my life and my faith.  Here I elaborate upon my views, my beliefs and my memories.  In keeping with the tone and tenor of my blog, this year's theme will be,

Tender Years:  "A grown up is a child with layers on."

Tender years are the the early years of childhood, before adolescence. My tender years spanned the decade of the 60's.  A decade that was filled with both innocence and revolution.

The awesome quote is by actor Woody Harrelson, best known to me from the series "Cheers".

Please journey with me as I recall memories from these years.  Most of the entries will be relatively short, as once one is in their mid 50's, the memories from those early years are often rather brief segments.  They are happy memories, as overall, I had a happy and secure childhood.

As you read each post, I hope it will bring to mind your own tender years memories, from your own decade.  I encourage you to compare and contrast your memories to my own in your comments.

What do you say, will you peel back those layers with me?

I Saw it on Facebook

This rather popular series of mine is back!  Hope you enjoy today's offering.

Telling me to calm down when I am upset is like throwing gasoline on a fire!

When you say, "Calm down", I hear, "You are upset over nothing.  I don't see why you think this is   so important."  Instead, I need to hear, "I know.  That is awful!"  Once I begin to feel like you are understanding WHY I am upset, THEN I"ll begin to calm down.

Do you have a similar reaction to this phrase?

What phrases push your buttons?

Nine, ten,...Eleven!?! This is something new!

Don't you wish you had eleven, too?!

We had two piggy sows and as the rains set in over SE Texas, Pete said that there was sure to be pigs born.  Animals seem to have a knack of giving birth in some of the worst weather!

Sure enough we got these during some of the worst of it.

Which is your favorite?  Mine is the one spotted like a Dalmatian.

Under the shed,
Barbara

How Do You Like Me Now?

I am thrilled to roll out my new background and theme.  I got it at Simply Blog It Backgrounds.  I did a little re-arranging and clean-up on my sidebar, changed my margins, tweaked some colors, and this is my new home for the foreseeable future!   I love this theme, because I was looking for something that had a spring feel to it and I wanted something that would tie into my theme for this year's Blogging from A to Z April Challenge.

If you haven't tossed your hat into the ring for the Challenge, you really should:  it is a wonderful experience!   If you are in the Challenge, I hope you've already been cleaning up your blog and making it visit friendly.

Before you go, would you tell me what you think of my  new look?  And I'd love to know if you plan to join in the Challenge this year!

Thanks!

God bless and keep you,

Barbara
